3 Definitions and abbreviations
For the purpose of this International Standard, the following abbreviation and definition apply.
3.1 Definition

fibre optic module
module that converts one or more electrical signals into one or more optical signals,or viceversa, and that is connected to at least one optical fibre
3.2Abbreviation
PCB: printed circuit board
4 Classification
The fibre optic module described in this standard is classified as type 1 according to thedefinitions of IEC 62148-1.
5 Specification of the optical interface
5.1 Optical connector interface
This standard applies to the SC duplex optic connector interface, which is specified in IEC 61 754-4.
5.2 Optical port assignment
Optical port numbering assignments are shown in Figure 1 .
